App of the Day: Subtext

Subtext is a digital reading program built for K-12 classrooms. Read and collaborate with your classroom for free. Turn any book or document into a digital classroom by reading books, documents and web articles in Subtext. Subtext also has a free app for iOS devices. Take a moment and watch this video on how Subtext works for education. http://vimeo.com/39460409

Application for Education: With Subtext, teachers can create groups and those within the groups can read millions of free and/or paid books, PDF files, or web articles all within the Subtext library. This is great for book clubs, classroom book talks, class discussions on web articles or PDF files uploaded, etc. Teachers can also create assignments with the groups.

Benefits of Using Subtext:
☆ Create and manage groups
☆ Upload content: books (free or paid), web articles, PDF files
☆ Customize privacy settings
☆ Teacher controls students and their groups
☆ Add instruction: embed videos, assignments, discussions
☆ Import your Edmodo groups and share notes to your Edmodo class page
